What a joyous occasion we shared at our café-style church as we came together to give thanks to God for mothers – and for all those who care for us with love, patience, and strength.
We reflected on the beautiful words of Psalm 139, particularly the verse where the Psalmist marvels at God “knitting us together in our mother’s womb.” It reminded us of the tender, intentional love God has for each of us – each one uniquely made in His image.
In a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere, we sipped fresh coffee and enjoyed delicious pastries while exploring the theme of God's nurturing nature and the vital role of those who care for others. A few attendees shared heartfelt reflections about how their faith supports them in their role as a mum, while others spoke movingly about what their own mothers mean to them.
Before heading home, all the ladies received a cheerful bunch of beautifully unique daffodils, along with a thoughtful booklet of daily readings – a small reminder of the love and care that surrounds us every day.
A lovely morning of warmth, gratitude, and community – and one that left us all encouraged.
